About: Mike Lorlief, uses the alias Mike Schmidt, is the only living descendant of Pandora. He is a mage of the Moros Path. He is a Necromancer and a master of the Death and Matter arcana. His life started out rather mundane. He was born though his mother was Amelia Lorlief, the self-proclaimed Queen of Magic. She stole his biological mother's body while pregnant with Mike because she discovered his mother was a descendant of Pandora. She gave birth to Mike and left him with his father and paternal grandmother. There Mike was raised until he reached ten years old and awoke as a mage.

When Amelia discovered this, she came to claim the boy. She used her political connections and power to obtain custody of him. She steamrolled Mike's father and pushed the man into an early grave. Mike did not want to be with his mother and tried to run away to his grandmother several times. To prevent this, she finally killed his grandmother and relocated Mike across the United States. From there, his life only grew worse.

When he was thirteen, his mother cast an obedience spell on Mike to ensure he must obey every command she gave him. She then ordered him to open Pandora's Box but he couldn't. The box told Mike he must be willing to open the box himself and surrender his existence to do so, as well as master the Death arcana. His mother couldn't order him to do it with the spell. Mike made the decision at that time to live out of spite. He would never open the box.

He was tutored in the arcana by his mother and other mages in her employ. Mike resisted some but did find he excelled at studies and school. He was smart and learned quickly. It didn't help his mother would command him to study and learn with all his ability to. So he did and studied what he liked. Which included languages and legal theories in order to interpret her orders in ways that made sense to obey her but in his own creative way. He began to act out when he could, pushing his mother's buttons, knowing she couldn't actually kill him.

This back and forth went for a while until one day she told Mike to 'Get out of her sight'. Taking the command to the extreme, he cloaked himself from her magic and scrying potential and vanished. He escaped for over 20 years. In that time he traveled the world, staying hidden from his mother. He met a vampire one night and she took him on a strange date. They ended up in a church where in a silver tub they made love. He just thought it was kinky. Turned out it was a ritual for the vampire to have a child. That was Mike's first child, a son named Maximilian Victor Davis. Mike didn't know about Max for years to come.

Mike later met a woman named Cecilia. He fell in love with her and she became pregnant. To keep them save, he made matching lockets with her. He gave her one and kept the other. He would know if she or his daughter were ever in danger and come save them. Then he left their lives.

He went to New York where he got a job as a security guard at an apartment building. There he met Izzy. A college student who he fell for as well and Izzy was embraced by the mother of his son, Max. The two fell in love as they worked together. Izzy became Sheriff of New York through their adventure. In the end though, Mike made enough noise and someone sold him out to Amelia. After Mike helped to vanquish the enemy Izzy was fighting, his mother arrived. She stole him away and nearly killed Izzy and his friends.

He spent the next several years under closer observation with a tracking spell and device on him. He ended up in Chicago and met Cole Harrison and his group. Mike bonded with the group, especially Cole, given the Changeling was in a similar position with his mother like he was. She owned him via a contract and couldn't get free from her. At one point, his mother's artificial body was destroyed and her soul fled to find another of her backup bodies. Mike used that time, with help from Cole and the others, to escape his mother again and return to New York. There his allies and friends had prepared for this and granted him safe harbor in the Woolworth Building. His mother and her allies couldn't enter it and he was finally safe, but still trapped.

There he stayed until his son appeared one day in New York. Though he didn't realize yet Max was his son. That didn't become clear until he discovered who Max's mother was and then it clicked. Unfortunately, tragedy struck when a plot to murder Max was hatched and succeeded to resurrect his vampiric mother. Though due to the Contagion, Max was also resurrected but came back different. During this hectic time, the Queen of Magic began to attack and weaken the magic protecting the building and Mike.

It is around this time Mike is from, just before the timeline was reset.
